We are currently looking for a Controls Technician

General Purpose

Controls Technician applies their knowledge and experience to design, develop and program highly complex automated assembly cells, using Robotics, PLCs, HMIs and Vision systems.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Typical duties will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Design, program, test and commissioning of automated control systems
  • Work in collaboration with Electrical Designers and Mechanical Engineers for all projects
  • Responsible for creating and updating existing Electrical schematics
  • Work with project management to complete projects on time, on budget and safely
  • Coordinating activities with other departments.
  • Creating project documentation
  • Ordering the required electrical components
  • Customer technical support
  • Quoting support
  • Travel to customer sites to service and support existing equipment or installation of new equipment
  • Follow all Health and Safety rules and procedures

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technologist diploma or Electro/Mechanical diploma

Skills and Special Requirements/Licensing:

  • Minimum 5-7 years in a custom automation environment
  • Strong robotic integration experience ideally in assembly or welding applications
  • PLC’s (A-B, Omron, Siemens, GE)
  • Knowledge of Vision Systems (Omron, Cognex, Keyence)
  • Ability to identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish the assigned work.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with others.
  • Should be able to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor

Armo Tool Limited, one of the most respected sources for toolmaking and automation expertise, with a proven track record for turning “ideas into action”, is now seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for our afternoon shift at our facility in London.

Qualifications and Skills

Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others

  • Manufacturing Supervisor must have Previous CNC Machining Experience and the understanding of the machining process.
  • Understanding of CNC Programming will be advantageous.
  • Manufacturing Supervisor must have the ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal customers and other co-workers to leverage their expertise to solve complex problems.
  • Manufacturing Supervisor must be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks within constraints of the position. Must be hands-on and have a personal drive to succeed.
  • Able to handle conflict resolution and other employee complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to follow the existing schedule to ensure on time delivery.
  • Able to bring your expertise and techniques with you while adapting to Armo-Tool’s unique culture, people and business processes.

Education/Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in a combination of hands-on machining experience, education and a knowledge of CNC programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily shift manufacturing assignments and post shift assignments visibly prior to shift start
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Work continuously to improve all work areas and contribute to the 5’s initiatives.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development and resolves employee’s issues using a variety of problem resolutions techniques.
  • Ensure full compliance with shop health and safety policies and performs accident investigations
  • Cross-train employees to ensure manufacturing requirements can be met every day. This includes establishing and executing a manageable job rotation schedule for all reports
  • Monitor Daily plant activities for efficiency, productivity, quality, cost reduction opportunities and safety.
  • Ensure employees are productivity engaging in appropriate business activities at their designated area
  • Be visible on the floor and assist the manufacturing department. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Follow all company policies and procedures as applicable to the position
  • Facilitate and remove obstacles to production as they arise
  • Complete shift labor edits accurately on a daily basis.
