General Description:

  • Responsible for life cycle management of key customer projects and accounts:
    • Overall accountability for the entire program
    • Key customer contact at high level
    • Continuity from project to project, site to site

Skill/Effort Requirements:

  • Must have experience managing automation programs with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must have a proven track record of providing positive leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and assembly team

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and adjust projects plans to be on schedule, at or below budget, delivering the contracted scope of work to all applicable codes and standards
  • Key customer contact for assigned projects. Responsible for customer satisfaction. Maintain regular contact (verbal and written) with key customer representative(s), ensuring all key program events and issues are documented in writing
  • Manage project risks, including:
    • Assessment and identification of risks.
    • Develop and implement Risk Mitigation Plan(s).
  • Project Planning:
    • Develop suitable budget allocations for labour and materials
    • Oversee program schedule development and identify all critical path activities
    • Conduct Initial Project Planning meeting
    • Work with supervisors to arrange adequate resources are assigned to all project tasks/timelines
  • Financial Management:
    • Working with the Finance team, ensure that all billings and invoicing are submitted on time. Ensure that all project deliverables are accomplished and supporting documentation is prepared for each project milestone payment. Obtain necessary FAT, SAT any other customer approvals needed to enable on-time payment, including final payment and program closure
    • Project Forecasting – prepare accurate financial and resource forecasts. Prepare reports as required by Management
  • Leadership:
    • Hold or attend team communications meetings on a regular basis
    • Encourage and mentor employees to ensure that the build team’s morale and efficiency is maintained at the highest level
    • Lead by example
    • Support project teams to follow the required procedures. Conduct or attend regular team meetings and issue weekly project updates to the project team
    • Coordinate the post project employee assessment process
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Customer advocate
    • Deliver maximum customer satisfaction
    • Develop long-term, enduring customer relationships
    • Elevate customer issues when required to the next level of management
    • Partnership with Account Manager to manage the customer
    • Assist Applications Engineering with preparing quotations and customer interaction
  • Project Change Management:

    • Ensure customer caused/requested changes are executed by the team only after receipt of customer agreement

Design and develop world- class automation solutions by contributing to machine concepts, design of control software, integration of software with electrical and mechanical systems, and process development. The programming and integration assignments involve leading-edge technologies and processes utilizing PLC’s, PC’s, robotics, motion controllers, vision systems, laser, and other controllers

Skill/Effort Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development and implementation of tools, methods, and modules ensuring standards maintained.
  • Provide general input and guidance to all Controls engineering designers that are part of his/her team.
  • Collaborate with quoting team in support of proposals and own the jobs won from concept to through-life support.
  • Work with members of the Controls Engineering department and other teams to continuously improve methods and tools for integrating controls technology while driving enhanced safety and functionality and to ensure that cost and schedule budgets are adhered to or improved upon.
  • Ensure scheduled milestones relating to controls engineering design and integration are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Controls Managers to set goals and manage successful performance of his/her team members.

This is a 3 Month Contract may lead into Full-Time

General Purpose

Electrical machine builders are responsible to assemble, wire and install all electrical aspects of industrial machinery.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Typical duties will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electromechanical, electrical, and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including transformers, generators exciters, and hydraulic and pneumatic devices.
  • Individuals will be responsible for the assembly of control panels, cabinets, and sub-assemblies. Involves wiring, crimping working with wire harnesses.

Education & Experience 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience
  • Must have one of the following certifications
    • Degree in Electrical Technician related field from a certified college.
    • Certification in Electrical Technician field from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to read prints and make changes on the fly, identify deficiencies with design
  • Knowledge of electrical code/electrical safety
  • Basic knowledge of machine wiring cable routing
  • Interconnecting methods etc.
  • Previous experience with control panel building
  • Basic hand and power tool knowledge

 Skills and Special Requirements:

  • Has common tools associated to Electrical Panel Building
  • Ability to travel within North America to support machine installation and start-up
  • Should be able to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices.
  • Maintain clean, safe working environment by following all health and safety procedures

Skill/Effort Requirements:

  • Change tooling and wheels while making the proper offsets and setups as needed.

  • Strong understanding of G M Codes and handheld inspection tools
  • Understand and flow of machining policies and instructions: MI, QSI, ISO, SOPs, work rules and safety guidelines
  • Experience machining components to tight tolerances and work independently.
